When Did I Become Everyone Else Before Becoming Me? A Pranic Healing Journey to Wholeness
A personal story of losing and finding myself through Pranic Healing, an energy healing practice that restored my sense of self, my confidence, and my mental health and wellbeing.
There comes a moment, often in the quiet, when the noise of everyday life fades just enough for a single question to rise.
Who am I… really?
Not mum. Not wife. Not the woman who holds everything together for everyone else. Just… me.
Many women reach this point after years of loving, giving, and carrying for others. Somewhere along the way, we lose ourselves in the roles we play, without even realising it’s happening and it can quietly take a toll on our mental health and sense of identity.
For me, that moment came after years of doing what I thought I was meant to do.
You fall in love. You get married. You pour yourself, pure and hopeful, into your marriage, into learning how to fit into a new family, new expectations, new roles.
Then come the children. And once again, you give everything. Your body. Your time. Your sleep. Your energy. Your heart.
You give because that’s what love looks like in this season.
Years pass quietly while you’re busy running. Running to school drop-offs and pick-ups. Running to sports practices, swimming classes, birthday parties. Running to the supermarket store, the laundry, the endless meals.
Making sure everyone is fed, clothed, supported, encouraged. Making sure everyone else is okay.
Until one day, you pause. And the question finally catches up with you.
Who am I beneath all of this?
I realised I had lost myself in the process of loving and giving. I couldn’t remember what I enjoyed doing. Did I even have a hobby? What did I like before life became about everyone else?
That question stayed with me, and eventually, it led me somewhere unexpected.
For the first time in a very long time, I chose something just for me. That’s when I began my Pranic Healing journey.
Discovering Energy Healing
At the time, I didn’t fully understand what Pranic Healing was or how deeply it would change my life. I just knew it felt right, like something inside me was waking up, that inner knowing.
As I started learning and practising this form of energy healing, something clicked. I remembered that as a child, I loved helping people. I couldn’t stand seeing others upset or in pain. I always wanted to comfort, support, and make things better. Becoming a Pranic Healer didn’t feel random, it felt like coming home to who I had always been.
Through Pranic Healing, I didn’t just learn a healing modality, I found purpose.
The Guilt, and What Came After
Attending Pranic Healing courses wasn’t easy emotionally at first. Guilt crept in. Guilt for taking time away from my family. Guilt for choosing myself. But something deeper kept calling me forward.
Now, when I reflect on that time, I see how misplaced that guilt was.
Those courses strengthened my confidence. They rebuilt my sense of self and supported my own mental health along the way. Returning to Pranic Healing courses to review and deepen my knowledge, and learning from my teacher Les Flitcroft from the UK Pranic Healing Institute, showed me that this path mattered, not just for me, but for the people I was meant to help.
Today, I am grateful and happy to say I am a Pranic Healing therapist.
I value the time I spend attending courses. I cherish the growth, learning, and connection. And most importantly, I return to my family fuller, calmer, and more present. I give to them from a higher vibration, not from exhaustion or resentment.
I now live a more balanced life, one where I honour my roles and myself.
Losing yourself doesn’t mean you failed. It means you loved deeply.
And finding yourself doesn’t mean you’re taking away from your family. It means you’re giving back from a place of wholeness.
Pranic Healing gave my life more meaning, more confidence, and more joy. It reminded me that I am allowed to evolve, to grow, and to have a purpose beyond the roles I play.
Life feels aligned now. Life feels balanced. And truly, life is good.
If you’re navigating a season of feeling lost in your roles, energy healing through Pranic Healing may offer the same sense of clarity and wholeness it gave me. Get in touch to find out more about sessions and courses.
